im really interested in this stuff. for the sake of originality i wont say how....but...i've got a set up (somewhat) but in the "test" phase. now i know i need an inverter to get the electricity stored in my battery to convert to ac. but....is there a way i can do that without buying an inverter!?

  • Hi there. I'm ...

Hi there. I'm planning to build a savonious wind aerogenerator on my balcony since I live on a 19th floor flat here in Scotland. I intend to use the energy for heating our home. Coul you please tell me the kind of alternator I need? Also I'm really interested on your battery bank and the type of batteries you use. Could you be a bit more specific about them please? Thanks a lot.

very nice. it is a;most exactly what i want to do. Can the inverter be wired directly to the circut breaker panel eliminating the need to rewire the garage. very nice job!

  • One other comment ...

One other comment in regards to my earlier post. If you are saying that 12.19 represents a typical low voltage dip under full load conditions then you are barely discharging your batteries and they should last a long time provided they are charged at the 13.50 to 14.00 VDC Range during the hours there is not much load from the inverter. BTW-Nice job on your turbine.

  • Your Batteries ...

Your Batteries require 13.5 to 14.00 VDC to remain or be restored to a fully charged condition assuming they are lead-acid batteries with a design specific gravity of 1.250 to 1.300. It sounded like you thought a voltage of over 12.00 vdc was more than you needed. You can discharge the batteries down to 10.50 volts but they should not remain at this voltage for long as the plates will deteriorate.

I too used a wind blue alternator. I don't have the same results as you.. How long are your pvc blades? How high is your tower? Nice looking windmill, it seems to give you all the power you were looking for and then some..

  • Hey great video, ...

Hey great video, I'm planning on going the same route as you, just get the rotor and a used 10si. What size alternator did you use? Also could you describe you tower, blade construction, cabling and distance your tower is from the batteries/rectifier. Just want to see if there were any issues that came up when putting this together. Thanks.
